HMK® S242 Color Enhancing Stone Impregnator 1-Liter
Color Enhancing Stone Impregnator
Reduces penetration of water and dirt on polished, honed and textured finishes. Enhances color. Solvent based. For interior and exterior use.
HMK® S242 is a ready to use solvent based impregnator for use on all natural stone surfaces (soft and hard), agglomerates, reconstituted stone and terrazzo, and can be used on polished, honed and textured surfaces. By reducing water and dirt penetration, regular maintenance is facilitated. Algae, fungus and other problems occurring with exterior installations are reduced. Color enhancement will bring out the grain and structure of the stone. HMK® S242 is especially suited for wall and floor surfaces. Vapor permeation is only slightly diminished. Please note that HMK® S242 is not effective against oil and grease. For exterior and interior use.
If you need Extra Stain Protection in a kitchen area, we suggest using HMK S244 Color Enhancing Impregnator with Extra-Stain Protection
Important: Clean surface thoroughly before treatment using HMK® R155 Intensive Cleaner (diluted) followed by a flood rinse with water and allow at least 24 hours to dry (max residual moisture of 2-4%) before sealing. If under floor heating exists, switch it off and allow the surface to cool to room temperature.
Instructions: Apply HMK® S242 generously and evenly to a chemically clean and dry surface with a natural bristle paint brush or the HMK® Z950-HMK Z951 brushes. One saturating, wet-on-wet application is usually sufficient depending on porosity of the stone. Thoroughly remove excess before drying on the surface. For more absorbent surfaces additional applications may be required. Subsequent applications may be done within fifteen minutes of the initial application, but it is best to wait 24 hours between applications to best determine saturation level. Smears or imperfections left after the application process can be removed using a soft clean cloth moistened with HMK® S242 and buffing.
Do not walk on the treated surface until 4 to 6 hours after treatment is completed. Resistance to dirt and water is developed over 24 hours. Protect surface from rain and humidity for 12 hours. Do not apply to rubber, plastics, lacquered or varnished surfaces and solvent intolerant materials. Remove all foodstuffs from the area to be treated before work is commenced. Once dry the residual material is not harmful to health. For regular cleaning and continued protection use HMK® P324 Liquid Stone Soap.

After extensive research online to figure out what to do with 2000 sq ft of filthy indoor brick tile pavers that had some kind of mysterious stain on them, I discovered StoneCareOnline. After multiple lengthy and helpful consultations with Diane, I bought the HMK S242 Enhancer and Sealer, HMK R155 Intensive Stone Cleaner and the Liquid Stone Soap. I tried the Stone Cleaner, but it was difficult to get it rinsed with the dips and scratches in 50-year-old tile. (I have plenty of places outside where I plan to use it and will be able to hose it off.) I ended up using a powerful steamer to clean the tiles and grout and remove what was left of the old sealer. The Enhancer and Sealer did a beautiful job on my floors. It was expensive, but well worth the cost. It does smell strongly, but that only lasted for half a day. It was easy to apply and was completely dry in a few hours. I used a brush for the smaller spaces and a roller for the big rooms. The roller with 1/4" nap put on the right amount. As it turned out, the brush areas could have used a bit more. Nonetheless, the slobber around the dog bowls beads right up. Mopping is easy, and I know the floor is clean when I am done. The sealer is not slippery and it somehow feels good on my bare feet. This is a great product and I look forward to using it in other areas. So far the Stone Soap has been fine, but not in any way that is especially noticeable. I like that it works with the sealer. Many thanks to StoneCareOnline for being the ONLY people who had a clue how to approach this project. It was a delight to work with you.
Thank you so very much for your kind review of our products. We greatly appreciate the support. Best regards!!
